Using more recycled materials
In response to the European Union’s call for voluntary pledges for the uptake of recycled plastics, Thrace Group submitted a pledge to substitute more than 8,500 tons of virgin raw material with recycled by 2025.
This pledge is Thrace Group’s contribution to the Commission’s objective to significantly increase the quantity of plastic waste that will be converted into new products by the year 2025.
Designing & manufacturing products that facilitate recycling
Totally aligned with the “European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy” that demands all plastic packaging placed on the market to be recyclable or reusable by 2030, Thrace Group already produces and distributes recyclable products.
Investing in Reinventing Plastics
Taking responsibility for its prominent role in the global plastics value chain, Thrace Group responds to the Commission’s call: “Let’sreinventplastics! It’s time to change the way we design, produce, use and dispose of them”
Within this context Thrace Group is increasing its investments in the research, design and manufacturing for light weight, recyclable packaging solutions and innovative technical fabrics.
Βronze award for Thrace Group in Health & Safety Awards 2022
Ιn the “Activities at Work Establishments” section, in the “Work Health and Safety Invention” category/sector, Thrace Pack received Bronze class distinction in Health & Safety awards 2022, regarding the activities at the company’s facilities at Ioannina.
ISO 50001:2011 certificate for Thrace Group
Thrace Group’s subsidiary, Thrace NG, has received the official certification for the Energy Management System. Constantly working towards improving its performance in a sustainable way and having its energy management procedures updated, the group was certified with the international ISO 50001:2011 standard, that certifies the efficient and sustainable use of energy for improved performance.
Thrace Group participates at the innovation programme of Thermpack
Thermpack programme relates to the “Development of innovative materials with improved thermal insulating properties for packaging applications” project and is co-financed by the European Union. Τhe programme’s objective is to contribute to the development of new packaging materials with improved thermal insulating properties, to be used as packaging solutions within the hot & cold, food and beverages industry.
Gold award for Thrace Group in the Environmental Awards 2018
Thrace Pack plant in Ioannina won the gold award during the 5th Environmental Awards ceremony, that was held on Tuesday 10th of July 2018, in Ariadne Estate. Thrace Group was one of the few companies that won a gold award for their environmentally-friendly performance and operations of their facilities.
