Ecotrophelia National Competition for eco-innovative food products with commercial potential was organized for the 6th consecutive year by the Federation of Hellenic Food Industries (SEVT). Its aim is to support Greek students that are invested in food science, creating also room for innovative ideas in the Food Industry to grow.
This year, the Nutrition & Dietetics Department of School of Food Technology & Nutrition, the Biotechnology Department of Agricultural University of Athens and School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of National Technical University of Athens have joined forces to develop Yomast, an innovative greek yogurt with 2% fat, lactose-free with mastic, which is rich in vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus. Yomast yoghurt, packed in yoghurt cups made by Thrace Pack, won second prize in the National Ecotrophelia Competition.
The award ceremony took place on the 27th of June 2017 in Aegli Zappiou.
